Chelsea’s boos Graham Potter was encouraged by his team’s game play in his first game in charge of Chelsea
The blues were held to a 1-1 draw by Salzburg despite controlling the majority of the game and producing the better opportunities .
Sterling got the first goal for Chelsea in the 48th minute with a scintillating assist from Mason Mount but they couldn’t hold long enough before Noah Okafor from Salzburg got the equalizer in the 75th minutes.
with this result , it leaves Chelsea at the bottom of the UCL group E table however Chelsea’s boss took plenty of positives from what he saw . This is what he had to say at full time
“The boys gave everything “ stressed potter
“ we attacked quite well, they defended well, got blocks in. We scored a good goal but lost a little in the second period of the second half . It’s impossible to control the whole game 90 minutes and the period we didn’t do it so well, they scored.
“The fact we did let in an equalizing goal shouldn’t distract from what was an otherwise solid showing “
“The little details we have to improve in, but they’ve responded really well to us over the last few days “
Despite the disappointing result the former Brighton coach still gave accolades to his team’s performance and hope they produce a better result in subsequent games
